Design

KSO-215ЭСМ6 cell is a cabinet of welded steel 2 mm thick. All its elements are painted with powder paint, resistant to mechanical damage.

To ensure high localization ability and operational safety, the cell housing is divided into separate compartments:

– busbar compartment;

– LV compartment (relay protection cabinet);

– HV compartment.

Busbars in the busbar compartment are mounted on the terminals of fixed breaker contacts or load break switches. The compartment is isolated from other cell compartments and from the busbar compartments of other switchboard cells.

In the low-voltage compartment contains microprocessor-based relay protection unit, devices for commercial or technical metering of electrical energy, measuring devices, terminal rows, heating and lighting circuits, automation devices, and operational interlocks. If necessary, the components of  the automated control system can be installed.

Depending on the main circuit layout, HV vacuum circuit-breaker, earthing switch, current transformers, fuses, and voltage transformers can be installed in the HV compartment. Cable bays are also located in the compartments. Vacuum circuit breakers manufactured by AO "PO Eltekhnika" or AO "GK Tavrida Electric" are used as power switch.

The drives of the load break switches, disconnectors, earthing switches, and control devices are located on the front side of the cell. Drives have mechanical position indicators of the main terminals of the switching devices.

On the front side of the door of the relay protection compartment there is a mnemonic scheme that indicates the position of the switching devices by means of the light indication: ON, OFF, or GROUNDED.

The door of the HV compartment has reinforced structure and mechanism, that ensures multi-point fixation to the cell body when the doors are closed.  There are inspecting windows on the cell door.

On the back wall of the cell there are valves to relieve excess pressure and release of combustion products that arise inside the cell in the event of a short circuit.

Interlock devices installed in the chamber and their quantity comply with the requirements of the Electrical Installations Code (EIC), 7th edition, and GOST 12.2.007.4.

LED lights are used for lighting of the cell housing interior.
