Design

KSO-366 chambers are unitized and irrespective of the arrangement of the main circuit electrical connections have similar design of the main units.

Each KSO chamber is a welded metal structure with main circuit equipment inside: load switch, disconnector, current transformer, and voltage transformer. Control drives of the vacuum load break switch with disconnector and the grounding blades are located on the front panel of the camera, the drives are operated by a removable handle. At the top of the chamber, along the front side, there is a box with a door where the auxiliary circuit trunks are laid. Access to the camera is provided through the door with a window to inspect the inner zone. Each chamber is lined with a metal sheet on the left end face. LED lights are used for lighting of the cell housing interior.

Interlock between the vacuum load break switch and the earthing disconnectors operates due to design features of the load break switch drives and grounding disconnectors. There is mutual mechanical interlock between the drives, which prevents tripping of the load break switch when the earthing switch disconnector is closed and vice versa. Also, there is interlock preventing access to inside of the chamber if  the grounding main blades of the load break switch are closed;

KSO chambers can be arranged in single-row and double-row layout. Double-row switchgear requires busbar bridges with disconnector and load break switch. Busbar bridge disconnector drives are mounted on the end panels, which also serve as fencing for the switchgear busbars. The bus bridge with disconnectors is installed only on the end chambers of the switchgear.

Grounding of the switchgear busbars can be implemented in a chamber with a voltage transformer or in separate chambers.
